BIOGRAPHY

Chris's music passion started at age 10 when he got his first guitar. This was 1980 so of course his first guitar was a red flying V that he striped like Eddie Van Halen. The guitar quickly became a big part of his young life. Within a few years he was often found with his 4 track cassette recorder, guitar, keyboard and drum machine writing and recording demos in his bedroom. His professional musical career began in 1988 at age 18. Chris first attended and graduated from Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA. After graduating Chris went to work for Wherehouse records and played in a few bands. After a few years of working and playing he still desired to get a college degree. Chris enrolled as a guitar major at Pasadena City College. During his time at PCC Chris was offered an opportunity to tour with a southern rock band after sitting in with them at a show. Chris toured and recorded with the band called “Age Of Faith” for a year. After playing over 200 shows and recording an acoustic album, he returned back home and enrolled at The University Of Southern California as a Recording Arts Major.

As an older student at USC, focused with some real world experience, Chris immediately found himself working for one of his professors at a studio in Orange County. There he was surrounded by both new and vintage recording technology. Chris was put in the engineer’s chair within a month, where he worked with producers and musicians that have worked with artists ranging from Amy Grant, David Lee Roth, to Larry Carlton.

Upon graduating Cum Laude from U.S.C. with a B.S. in Recording Arts, Chris applied for a staff engineer position at Rondor Music Intl. Within a week he was engineering sessions and 2 months later the job was his. At Rondor Chris gained some invaluable skills including artist management and making quick decsions as time was of the essence. Most songwriters or bands would complete a song a day from start to mixed. At Rondor many of the earlier sessions took place without the aid of Protools, therefore everything was recorded to either 24 track 2" tape, DTRS, or ADAT. During his time at Rondor, Chris delved more into the role of producer as well as engineer as many of the songwriters would welcome his input and often took advantage of his guitar playing.

As an engineer Chris has worked for or with many songwriters, artists, musicians, and producers including Herb Alpert, Everclear, Butch Vig (Garbage), The Eels, Kci & JoJo, Graham Ward (Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Synchronicity-Music Inc.), Michael "Smidi" Smith, Matt Roberts (3 Doors Down), Marie´, Emanuel Officer, Annie Roboff, Kevin Savigar (Rod Stewart, Marcel), Marcel, Chris Vrenna (Nine Inch Nails), John5 (Marylin Manson), Victor Murgatroyd (The Cult), Josey Scott (Saliva), Ozomatli, Wayne Kramer (MC5), Duff McKagan, (Guns & Roses), Jennifer Paige, Jesse Johnson (The Time), Paul Jackson Jr., and Matt Bissonette to name a few.

Chris’s guitar player credits include songs for Josey Scott (Saliva), Ruben Studdard (American Idol), Kci & JoJo, The Network TV show Theme for “The Restaurant”, Fox Sports “The Best Damn Sports Show Period” and many other songs for shows on MTV, Fox Sports Net, and Speed Channel.

Chris currently resides in the So Cal. area with his wife and two kids.
